Markus Renner is Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Branding-Institute AG in Basel since 2008, consulting national and international companies, institutions, associations, sports (clubs) and indviduals in every topic around building, protecting and restoring their good reputation as well as building, strengthening and revitalizing their brands. He also regularly advises clients in strategic communications, marketing and rankings management.
Concurrent to his consultancy work, Markus is lecturer in “Stakeholder-guided Brand & Reputation Management” at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Lucerne and Winterthur (both Switzerland). From 2014 until 2017 he was Visiting Professor at Henley Business School (England) in “Marketing and Reputation Management”. Markus is also Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of the International Brand and Reputation Community (INBREC). INBREC is the international network of senior managers from globally renown corporations and associations who regularly meet to exchange their experience and expertise in brand and reputation management among peers.
Prior to his current assignments Markus has been working for more than a decade within leading global corporations, e.g. as Head of Global Brand & Reputation Management at the Swiss pharma giant Novartis AG, Basel (Switzerland) and as Head of External Communications of Bayer AG in Leverkusen (Germany). Markus holds a PhD in Business Psychology from the University of Basel (Switzerland) and is author of multiple publications – among them his book “Generating Trust via Corporate Reputation”. He is frequent keynote speaker at many public and in-company seminars and conferences around the world.
